A Few Questions...

I am still trying to search for my long lost mojo! From what I've been hearing, its not alone - maybe there's some really wierd "mojo meeting" going on somewhere and all the mojo's are sitting around laughing at us all, seeing us question ourselves and struggling to put anything down!!!

Well, I've had enough now and, to quote Peter Finch, "I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore". Mojo (and friends) put that drink down now and come home where you belong!!! I'm not happy with your carrying's on and it can only lead to TROUBLE!!!!

Now, I have a few questions for everyone....

1. Do you scrap better alone or in company?
2. What do your layouts start with? (ie. photo, papers, etc.)
3. Do you ever sit down and produce ABSOLUTELY nothing?
4. Do you ever look at your work and think "blah"?

Just wondering if I'm normal (no smart-arse comments please lol!).

oh Jill you crack me up!! as for the answers to your questions...
1.I find i can concentrate more on my own, so i scrap alone mostly..when i get with my friends i tend to talk more and watch them scrap..lol
2.I love taking photos and most of my layouts start with the photo then if i just have a gorgeous paper i have to use i start with that..
3.I often sit down with all good intentions and end up surfing the net and doing not much else.
4.and yes i find that lately i dont like a lot of what i do but its funny cause it can sometimes be that the ones i dont like end up winning some prize..lol..or maybe they just feel sorry for me..lol.
well im off to try and find some of my mojo and start a layout,,,,heres hoping!

1. I do find I get more done alone, but I also like scrapping with friends as they inspire me and give me ideas for other projects.
2. I start with the pp and then make or take a photo to match! LOL Weird I know, but not having kids to photograph, I have to improvise!
3. NO! If I am stuck for a layout I make a card. Even if the card Sucks, I know my m-i-l will love it!
4. Yes all the time, but as DH puts it, we do not see it's beauty because we compare ourselves to others. I found that once I stopped doing this I started having fun and creating just for me.

You mojo will return Jill, just don't force it. In the meanwhile I suggest altering a journal for any ideas or sketches you like and writing them down. I have one and it does come in handy (esp. sketches) when I am stuck.

Jill, Jill, Jill you're in a bit of a rut aren't you. This too will pass. You're not alone, I'm sure everyone has moments like this, I do on a regular basis. Here are my replies:

1. I get more done alone, but I also like the social aspect.
2. Mainly with a pic, then I grab everything that may possibly go with it and start from there. Some of the CC challenges I've had to work the other way around (eg certain colour or brand paper) and it's way too hard.
3. Yep, I'm the queen of fluffing around, I can make moving things around on a desk look like an art form.
4. Yep, all the time. Funnily enough a couple of the lo's I have thought were blah were the ones I've had to send in to the mags, so go figure.

ah ~ you poor thing!
1-i can't seem to concentrate with anyone around... so on my own.

2-whatever i want to haha... it often comes down to the story i want to tell. if it has a picture to go with it, i'll start with the picture.

3-yes so i go and do something completely non-scrap-related!

4-no it usually doesn't get that far. i stop as soon as i feel it's not going well and either start fresh or do something else!!

why don't you scraplift a page of your own you really like? might do the trick!

Gee I love reading your blog :)

1. Do you scrap better alone or in company? Alone. Can't concerntrate otherwise :)

2. What do your layouts start with? (ie. photo, papers, etc.) Generally the photo.

3. Do you ever sit down and produce ABSOLUTELY nothing? Yes. Probably more times than I produce 'something'. I feel like I get a huge 'blockage' and just can't see past it. I have to walk away from it then and cross my fingers something will come to me later or generally another day.

4. Do you ever look at your work and think "blah"? Frequently!! Sometimes I dream that I am actually going to have the time to produce something so fantastic once I don't have a one year old climbing up my legs all the time. I look forward to more time to play and experiment - to step out of my comfort zone.

It good to read everybody else's comments and know we are not alone :)

Scraplift...it might just get you going again!

1 Alone but I lately have had my first GROUP session!! LOL I don't get much done though. I talk, eat and then feel inferior to everyone else!! LOL

2 It used to always be the photo first but now I will have a story in mind and then find a photo that fits.

3 Pretty similar to Francinea

4 Not too often but I must admit lately they all bore me! It's not that they aren't "nice" but I'm lately wanting to do art for arts sake.

1. A bit of both. I really like scrapping with others but do a lot on my own ( hey when are we going to get together?)
2. Sometimes it's the photo and sometimes I have an idea and then have to go and take a suitable photo.
3. Sometimes I don't alawys finish a layout in one setting. i often leave it on my desk and add to it as I go past and get another hit of inspiration.
4. Most of the time I like what I do but have the odd one I don't.

I think everyone loses their mojo once in a while.... feeling a bit like that myself. Really struggling to get any EDM layouts done so have turned back to sewing for a while. Yours will come back... just be patient.
